Canadian Winter Tire Laws & Fitment Guide
If your Toyota delivery window lands between October and April, taking delivery on factory all-season rubber may leave you non-compliant with provincial highway safety laws.
Mountain Pass Regulations
From October 1 to April 30, winter tires marked with the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) or M+S symbol with a minimum 3.5mm tread depth are required by law on most major provincial highways (Sea-to-Sky, Coquihalla, Okanagan Connector, Hwy 3).
Loi sur les pneus d'hiver
Under Quebec highway safety code, all passenger vehicles registered in Quebec must be fitted with tires bearing the 3PMSF pictogram from December 1 to March 15. Dealerships cannot legally let you drive off on standard rubber without signing an exemption.
